Tour Updates: Amanda Palmer, Carol King, Deadshits!, Mariah Carey and Much More!

Amanda Palmer Postpones Tour

It’s sad news that Amanda Palmer & the Grand Theft Orchestra’s tour of Australia and New Zealand will have to be postponed. The decision to postpone all scheduled tours was made to allow Amanda to stay in Boston with her best friend Anthony, who has cancer and is now in treatment with an uncertain outcome. The tour was originally set for January and February 2013 and will now be moved to September and October. All tickets purchased to the January and February show dates will be valid for the rescheduled shows and current ticket holders will not need to purchase new tickets to gain entry to these show dates.

Carole King Announces Second and Final Melbourne Show

Music legend Carole King has added a second night to the Melbourne leg of her tour, which will take place at Melbourne’s The Plenary on Tuesday February 19. This is the first time Carole King has toured since her sold out shows in 2010 and with a catalogue of songs ranging over 25 solo albums, Carole King will be definitely be an experience. The tickets for the second show will go on sale at 9am next Friday, December 14.

Deadshits! Line-up Announced

The line-up for Brisbane’s annual Deadshits! Festival has just been announced and with the festival in its fourth year it’s set to bring the best range of talent yet! San Francisco Hunx & His Punx will make an appearance as well as Woods and Brisbane favourite, Blank Realm. Sydney outfit Naked on the Vague will perform along with Kitchen’s Floor– all of which is set to take place on January 25th at The Zoo.

And if you’re looking something to do Australia Day, you can head to either The Box which will have Evelyn Morris, Leighton Craig and Outerwaves or The Hideaway which will have Superstar and Half High. Finally on the third Blackbear Lodge will host Terrible Truths, Spite House, Black Vacation and Fig. It’s one ticket and three great nights!

Extra Seats Made For Mariah Carey

She’s one of the world’s most infamous pop divas and it seems that Melbournite’s are so keen to see Mariah Carey that Etihad Stadium have been forced to open another level seating! The show sold out as soon as the first 9000 tickets went on sale and those who missed out may get a reprieve as the second wave of tickets go on sale for the January 5th concert. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis Tour News

The best ticket in town right now is Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and if you’ve managed to get your hands on one or are feeling pretty tempted, there’s a few changes and announcements you might need to know. Their February 13th show in Melbourne has been moved to The Palace and a third and final show for Sydney has been announced on 11th February at The Metro. Not only this, a further show has been announced in Sydney due to sell outs! If you’re a little confused, the details are nicely layed out below:

The Chariot Join Bring Me The Horizon Show

The Chariot are lucky enough to play alongside Bring Me The Horizon for their upcoming headline shows. With a new album out, The Chariot are ready to Australian audiences in February next year, with the bill also including Pierce The Veil. If you’re a metal-kid or a screamo fan than you had better get onto the tickets quick!

Lost Angels Cancel Adelaide Show

It’s unfortunate news that Lost Angels won’t be going ahead with the Adelaide leg of their tour as the band have claimed it isn’t financially viable. The show was scheduled on December 20th at the Governor Hindmarsh and those who did buy tickets are to get a refund through the original point of purchase. Sydney and Melbourne shows will go ahead as planned.
